I was a part of the program committee to conceptualize and execute a systemwide professional development opportunity to allow colleagues to gain mastery in AI tool and LLMs. The virtual event was called "AI in July" and I led the creative branding efforts and contributed in the marketing/communications planning. As the lead brand designer, I was inspired by the Lego brand both in in playful colors, but more in the connotations it brings to encourage our participants to construct skills and competence in AI tools, but also in deconstructing myths and misconceptions about using generative AI professionally and personally.
These assets were designed on both Figma and Adobe Creative products. Wordmarks were inspired by the Lego brand, but were created on Figma. Design assets integrated AI-generated colorful blocks using Adobe Firely to avoid copyright infringement.
For an event overview, read my blog post summarizing the activities: https://calstateinnovate.org/ai-in-july/
Below is a gallery of digital assets created for AI in July that include: a post-event infographic shared with stakeholders, session tiles uploaded to the hosting platform (Zoom Sessions), and a a PNG calendar distributed to participants.
